Two were pronounced dead, while two others were wounded in a collision of motorcycles in Barangay Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City.

The incident happened along ML Quezon National Highway in Barangay Mactan past 3 a.m. on May 24, 2025.

Based on footage of a closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera mounted by a Korean grocery store, the three motorcycles were all traversing the said highway on the side of Sitio Abapo, Barangay Mactan.

A motorcycle on counterflow hit another motorcycle traveling from the opposite direction, and hit other motorcycles due to the impact.

The 19-year-old driver of the motorcycle that maneuvered a counterflow was declared dead on the spot, while the driver of the other motorcycle involved in the head-on collision was rushed to the hospital but expired there hours later.

It was learned that the 27-year-old victim worked as a bartender in a resort.

The persons riding pillion and the driver of the third motorcycle involved in the vehicular mishap sustained contusions and abrasions. They were said to be workers of a resort in Mactan.

GMA Regional TV Balitang Bisdak tried to seek a comment from the driver of the third motorcycle, but he refused an interview.
