The son and nephew of Senate President pro tempore Jinggoy Estrada were mauled by three men in Boracay Island, Malay town in the Province of Aklan.
The incident happened dawn on May 24, 2025.
Police confirmed that the three suspects are residents of Boracay.
According to Estrada, his son and nephew were in Boracay for a vacation. The two were about to leave a bar when the suspects tailed them and punched them.
Police said that the suspects accused the victims of yelling at them. However, the victims denied the allegation.
Relatives of the suspects turned them over to the authorities after an alleged attempt to flee.
Estrada has filed charges for physical injuries against the suspects.
"Lumabas po ang ating mga victim, paglabas po, maybe 50 to hundred meters ng lakad nila from the said bar, sinundan po sila ng ating mga suspek. From there, doon na nangyari ang mauling incident. Nagkasalubong lang, tinginan lang,” Lt. Col. Mar Joseph Ravelo, chief of Malay Municipal Police Station, said.
