Two men involved allegedly in the illegal drugs trade exchanged fire in Roxas City, Province of Capiz.

The incident that was caught on closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera took place in Barangay Punta Tabuc, Roxas City on May 24, 2025.

The footage showed of a man wearing a crash helmet and firing multiple times at another man.

The man on the other side of the road fired back.

According to the Roxas City Police, it is possible that the incident stemmed from a dispute in how drug proceeds were shared among the suspects.

“Part ng kanilang personal grudges is about sa drugs. Hindi pa natin matukoy kung onsehan sa kalakalan sa ilegal na droga ang dahilan ng kanilang away,” said Chief Master Sergeant Ramil Arcangeles, spokesperson of the Roxas City Police.

The person in crash helmet identified only as alias “Nonoy,” a resident of the said barangay, is associated purportedly with the illegal drugs trade in the area. Meanwhile, the other man he exchanged fire with was identified as alias “J-R,” a resident of Barangay 7, a former child in conflict with the law (CICL) who is now an adult.

Police recovered from the crime scene an empty sachet believed to have contained illegal drugs.

No one was reported injured in the incident.
