Entry into the six-kilometer Extended Danger Zone on Mount Kanlaon from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. is suspended temporarily starting Wednesday, May 28, 2025, until the next issuance of a public advisory, said Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) Western Visayas.
Based on DOST-PHIVOLCS Kanlaon Volcano Bulletin, from 5 a.m. on May 26, 2025 to 5 a.m. on May 27, 2025, 31 volcanic earthquakes and sulfur dioxide flux at 1,020 tons per day on May 26, 2025, were recorded. Plume reached 700 meters high that drifted northwest.
Based on past volcanic events, these are indications of another possible eruption of Kanlaon Volcano in Negros Island, OCD 6 said.
