A fire broke out in a village in Rosales, Pangasinan afternoon on Tuesday, May 27, 2025.

The fire started at the house in Don Antonio Village in Barangay Don Antonio and spread quickly to two commercial stalls beside it.

“Bigla pong namatay ‘yong ilaw. Tapos noong pagsilip po namin, gusto po namin patayin ‘yong breaker, which is doon po nag-cause ng sunog,” Yesha Nicole Goton, a relative of the house owner, said.

Firefighters from the Rosales Fire Station responded quickly and put out the fire before it escalated.

The fire reached the first alarm. No one was reported injured.

According to arson investigator SFO1 Joseph Ullibac, the structure was made of mixed materials.

“Ang stalls at ito pong residential is made of mixed materials. Iyong ibang parte ay made of wood,” Ullibac said.

Authorities are still investigating the exact cause of the fire, though they suspect either a cooking accident or an electrical issue.

The estimated damage was around P2 million.
