Six people were injured in two separate road accidents in Davao City.

The two accidents involved trucks.

In the accident in Barangay Tamugan, a motorist ended up in intensive care after he was hit by rocks from the truck involved.

The truck driver has said that the vehicle lost its brakes and fell on its side as he was navigating a curve on the barangay road in Upper Tamugan.

The truck came from a quarry site and was heading to the Davao-Bukidnon National Highway.

When the truck fell on its side, the rocks it was transporting spilled to the street and hit a motorist.

The rocks also hit a house and two tricycles parked in the area. One tricycle even fell into a canal.

Meanwhile, three vehicles figured in an accident on the McArthur Highway in Barangay Sirawan in the Toril District.

Based on police investigation, a 12-wheeler truck was parked in front of a farm in the area when its brakes reportedly got disengaged accidentally, causing the truck to move and hit an L300 van passing the area.

The van spun from the impact and hit another moving vehicle, an Elf truck, before ending up at a store by the highway.

The driver and passenger of the L300 van, as well as the two owners of the store, were injured.

P/Capt. Hazel Caballero-Tuazon, spokesperson of the Davao City Police Office said the parties in the accident in Barangay Sirawan have agreed to settle the matter amicably.

“So katong 12-wheelers ang managot sa maong insidente… Nagsabot na sila kagabii with their lawyer nila; i-settle lang nila ang damages. So, magbayad lang tong tag-iya sa 12-wheeler truck,” she said.
