Authorities discovered suspected shabu worth ₱1.054 billion during a search at an abandoned house in Barangay Pampang, Angeles City, Pampanga.
Armed with a warrant, PDEA agents entered the house and found 155 transparent plastic bags, each containing about one kilo of suspected shabu.
Authorities said the target of the search, a Chinese national, was not in the area during the raid.
The suspect is now being hunted and will face charges for violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act. Investigators are now tracing where the illegal drugs were supposed to be delivered.
“Sa ngayon po, hinahanap po namin kung saan po siya intended talaga itong mga drugs na ito, saan siya intended na ibagsak,” Glenn Guillermo, PIO of PDEA Region 3, said.
The PDEA said the recent discovery may be linked to a previous operation where similarly packed shabu was recovered.
“Two weeks [ago] po, we had anti-illegal operation, naka-recover kami ng 35 kilos. So ‘yun po, based on our intel report, itong seizure na ito, pareho po ‘yung packaging... so ‘yun po ‘yung ginagawang on-going investigation po ng PDEA,” Guillermo added.
