The City of Iloilo logged three additional confirmed cases of Monkeypox (Mpox), according to a report released by the Iloilo City Health Office (CHO) on Monday, June 2, 2025.

The three additional cases are from the list of four suspected cases earlier reported.

It was determined that the three new confirmed cases have no close contact with the first confirmed case.

However, according to the Iloilo CHO, one of the patients has domestic travel history.

The patients are all adults, and some of them have comorbidities, CHO disclosed further.

As of this writing, there are two suspected cases in Iloilo City based on CHO’s records.

The patients have been placed under isolation, are receiving treatment, and are now in stable condition.

Despite the situation, the Iloilo CHO could not say categorically if there is indeed a community transmission of the virus while investigation on confirmed cases is ongoing.

According to the Iloilo CHO, the first confirmed Mpox case is already recuperating.

“Actually magtatapos na ang kanyang 21-day isolation kaso may lesions pa siya. So in our protocol and guidelines, whichever comes longer. Right now we are still on investigation on the correct definition kung ano ang tinatawag na community transmission,” Dr. Mary Ann Poli-Diaz, head of the Iloilo City Health Office, said.

Health authorities have continued to advise the public to observe health protocols and to stay calm.

The authorities have further conducted massive monitoring to prevent the spread of the disease.

“The Iloilo City Health Office, in close coordination with Iloilo City Government, is actively engaging in schools, barangay officials, border checkpoints and workplaces to strengthen our collective response aimed at prevention and containment,” Poli-Diaz added.

Meanwhile, the patient confirmed earlier by the Iloilo Provincial Health Office to be positive of Mpox is reported to have already recovered.

The patient is a person of minor age.
