A strong surge of brown-colored floodwater gushed from the NIA dam in Barangay Managa, Bansalan, Davao del Sur on Tuesday, June 3, 2025.
In a video footage, the muddy water flowed forcefully into the creek nearby.
According to the Bansalan Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO), only moderate rainfall was experienced in the area, but heavy rains were reported in upland areas at that time.
MDRRMO has not received any report of residents affected by the flooding.
However, residents living near creeks and rivers are advised to stay alert and monitor weather updates closely.
State weather bureau PAGASA said rains can be expected in the afternoon or at night due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).
