Charges for rape with homicide were filed against four persons in the rape-slay of a Slovak national in Boracay Island, Malay town, Province of Aklan.

One of them, said to be 38 years old, while the three others who are 28 years old were accused in the rape and killing of Michaela Mickova, a Slovak tourist.

Mickova’s body was found in an abandoned chapel in Boracay Island on March 12, 2025.

According to Aklan Police Provincial Office (PPO), most of the men offered tour packages in the island. It was also established that all four are residents of Boracay.

“Kasama sila sa mga POI (persons of interest) natin. Local silang apat,” said Captain Aubrey Ayon, spokesperson of Special Investigation Task Group.

As of this writing, the four persons of interest have not been arrested yet, but are placed on surveillance and monitoring.

“Binibigyan natin ng assurance ang public na although regular filing siya, hindi pa natin sila nahuhuli, closely-monitored na sila… kasi syempre ang fear ng iba ay baka makagawa pa sila ng another crime,” Ayon said.

Mickova’s family was already informed of the news through the Consulate of the Slovak Republic in the Philippines that has coordinated with the Aklan PPO.
