The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has released on Friday, June 6, 2025, the calendar of activities for the October 13, 2025, Parliamentary Elections in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
The election period, which includes restrictions such as a gun ban, will run from August 14, 2025, to October 28, 2025.
Candidates may start campaigning from August 28, 2025, until October 11, 2025.
However, on the eve of the elections and during the election day (October 12-13, 2025), campaigning will be strictly prohibited, along with a liquor ban.
After the elections, candidates will be required to submit their Statement of Contributions and Expenditures (SOCE) by November 12, 2025.
In February 2025, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. signed into law the measure postponing the parliamentary elections in BARMM from May to October 2025.
According to a report by GMA News Online, COMELEC chairman George Garcia said preparations proceed as planned for the first ever BARMM parliamentary elections.
Garcia said it is not for the poll body to decide whether or not the BARMM polls would push through on October 13, 2025.
“Kami po sa Comelec ay walang hinto ang paghahanda sa BARMM parliamentary elections. Tuloy na tuloy po ito kung kami ang tatanungin. Wala po sa amin ang desisyon tungkol sa pagpapaliban nito,” Garcia said.
