A farmer was stabbed to death following a heated argument with a 34-year-old suspect during a birthday celebration in General Santos City.
Police identified the victim as alias “Dodong” who was among those who attended the party.
Based on reports the victim was asked to leave after the alcohol ran out. But he returned later and figured in a confrontation with another guest.
“Misyagit na lang kalit akong mama kay siya man diri nag videoki, misyagit na lang siya kalit nadunggab na daw, pero una-una daw ato is gisumbag ra atung suspek ang victim pagkatumba daw ato mibunot siya kalit og kutsilyo mao na to, gideterso na og saksak,” a resident said.
The victim sustained two stab wounds and was rushed to the hospital. He was pronounced dead at around 3 a.m. on Friday, June 6, 2025.
“Nakatamo yung victim ng dalawang saksak dahil mahaba at malaki yung mother weapon na na-recover ng ating kapulisn and, sad to say, the victim expired at 3 a.m. at Jorge Royeca Hospital,” Police Station 8 Commander, Major Robert Fores, said.
Police responded quickly and arrested the suspect within minutes.
“Gikakos man ko niya, basig naa siya kutsilyo, ako man hinuon (amalubaan), mao tung gipunit nako ang kwan og giwakli nako siya og (naluba),” the suspect said.
“So, immediately, ang aking personnel standby sa checkpoint ay agad na nagresponde doon sa nasabing incident. Alinsunod doon sa instruction ng ating butihing Chief PNP, doon sa full implementation of three minutes response time in urban cities,” Fores added.
The suspect may face murder charges.
