Authorities seized alleged smuggled cigarettes worth around P20 million in Davao City on Saturday, June 7, 2025.
Personnel of the Naval Forces Eastern Mindanao (NFEM) were conducting maritime patrol when they spotted several individuals unloading boxes of alleged foreign-brand cigarettes from a motorized banca near Dumoy Point in Davao City.
The crew members fled the area and abandoned the alleged contraband.
During inspection, NFEM discovered around 800 master cases of cigarettes worth.
The items seized and the watercraft were turned over to proper authorities on Sunday, June 8.
