The police officer involved in a motorcycle collision that killed two people in Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental is set to face administrative charges and sanctions.

Corporal Ramje Mondejar, assigned at the First Misamis Oriental Provincial Mobile Force Company (PMFC), was riding in pillion on the motorcycle he allegedly owned when the accident happened.

The policeman’s motorcycle was driven by a 25-year-old woman.

Based on investigation, the motorcycle of the policeman allegedly tried to overtake another motorcycle and encroached on the opposite lane, which caused the collision with the approaching motorcycle.

Due to the impact, all riders involved were thrown off their motorcycle.

The woman and the other rider were declared dead on arrival at separate hospitals.

1st PMFC Commander, Lt. Col. Ariel Philip Pontillas, said an administrative case is being prepared and disciplinary actions will be imposed against the policeman involved.

“Naay disciplinary action amo buhaton sa pulis na involved under influence of liquor,” Pontillas said.

Pontillas added that the leaves and other privileges of the policeman were also curtailed.

“Sa Karon gina-prepare pa tanan documents for admin case, curtailed iya mga privileges and leaves. Naa ra siya sa camp,” Pontillas said.

“There are no “sacred cows” in our ranks—regardless of position or affiliation, every individual is subject to the rule of law and organizational policies. We are fully cooperating with Gingoog City Police Statioin and will support the legal process in every possibly way,” he added.
