A utility worker was injured after a group of armed men fired shots at the outpost of the Barangay Peacekeeping Action Team (BPAT) in Barangay Poblacion, Shariff Aguak, Maguindanao del Sur.

In a CCTV footage, a multicab with at least four men on board is seen passing the area and firing shots at the outpost.

The victim, who happened to be sitting beside the outpost, was hit in the feet, leg, chest, and arms. He is in critical condition, as of this writing.

Personnel of the Maguindanao del Sur Police Provincial Office have launched a pursuit operation to track the suspects down.

“Yung initial sa viewing doon sa CCTV, of course, merong driver, tapos doon sa likod ng multicab na nagpaputok is tatlo ang initial na nakita doon,” Maguindanao del Sur PPO Spokesperson, Capt. Guiseppe Tamayo, said.

Authorities are investigating the incident to determine the motive behind the shooting.

“Hindi natin pinawawalang bahala lahat ng anggulo kasi kung ang target ba is yung BPAT outpost or yung mismong tao na nakaupo doon sa gilid ng outpost,” Tamayo added.
