What looked like a high-speed race on a national highway turned out to be six passenger buses overtaking one another dangerously in Nueva Vizcaya.

The viral footage showed buses of G.V. Florida Transport Inc. speeding along the Diadi-Cordon Road. Some of the buses even overtook other vehicles on the highway.

Authorities have already identified two of the buses. One was traveling the Sampaloc-Santa Ana, Cagayan route, while the other was bound for Apayao from Baguio.

As a result, the Department of Transportation (DOTr) suspended 15 bus units of the company for one month on the affected routes.

Florida Transport has issued a public apology, saying the incident does not reflect their safety standards and that they put public safety first.

The bus company will face the Land Transportation Office (LTO) on June 13, and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) on June 25.

Meanwhile, all their drivers are now undergoing drug tests as part of the investigation.
