The remains of a 13-year-old boy believed to have been swept away by strong current at a river in May were found at a dam site in Barangay Topland, Koronadal City, South Cotabato.
Rescuers retrieved the decomposing body of the boy morning on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, nearly two weeks after he was reported missing on May 30.
Police said the boy was seen last swimming at the river where the water level was reportedly high at that time due to continuous rains, according to his companions.
Moments later, the boy went missing and could no longer be located. The incident was reported to authorities late.
Col. Peter Pinalgan, said.
The boy’s family reportedly requested an autopsy to confirm the cause of death.
GMA Regional TV One Mindanao is reaching out to the boy’s family for a statement, as of this writing.
