A 23-year-old man died after his motorcycle crashed into an Asian utility vehicle (AUV) on the national highway in Barangay Maningding, Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan evening on Thursday, June 12, 2025.

Closed circuit television (CCTV) footage showed the moment the motorcycle hit the AUV at past 10 p.m.

According to authorities, the AUV was moving along the highway when the motorcycle suddenly made a U-turn and slammed into it.

The rider was thrown off his motorcycle and suffered serious injuries. He was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.

The victim was a resident of Malasiqui, Pangasinan. The AUV driver, who is from Bugallon, Pangasinan, was unharmed.

Police said the AUV driver is willing to speak with the victim’s family. No official statement has been released.

"Iyong nakamotorsiklo ng Honda Click, galing siya sa inuman sa mga relatives niya sa Malasiqui. Pinasyalan lang niya iyong mga relatives niya dito sa Barangay Maningding, Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan. Nagkainuman daw sila doon," PCpt. Arcadio Pidlaoan Jr., Administrative Officer of the Sta. Barbara Police Station, said.
