As classes for School Year 2025–2026 officially began, the Dagupan City Schools Division Office assured students and parents that bullying has no place in any school in the city.
“We are addressing them... all our teachers are provided training on that already,” Dr. Rowena Banzon, Schools Division Superintendent of Dagupan City, said.
To prevent bullying, the division conducts yearly seminars for students, parents, and the community. Each school has also set up a reporting system and a Child Protection Committee to monitor and address any incidents of bullying.
“The teacher in the classroom would be able to document bullying cases para mas hands-on ang aming intervention,” Banzon added.
Police are also playing a role. The Dagupan City Police Station regularly visits schools and holds dialogues to help reduce abuse and violence.
“‘Yung WCPD po natin ang tumutulong sa program ng City Mayor na zero abuse,” PCPT. Shayne Daciego, spokesperson of the Dagupan City Police, said.
As the new school year begins, the division also promised a more energized team of teachers and a safer learning environment for all students.
“We promised our teachers are much more rejuvenated. And we know you’ll enjoy the school year again. Welcome back!” Banzon said.
