Two Land Transportation Office (LTO) officials in Cagayan Valley were removed from their posts after allegedly assaulting a young singer, her mother, and two others during an event inside a hotel in Tuguegarao City.
The alleged incident occurred on June 12, 2025.
Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon confirmed that LTO Region 2 Assistant Regional Director Manuel Baricaua and Chief Enforcer Charles Ursulum will face charges of physical assault.
Dizon has also written to President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., recommending their permanent removal from office.
The incident drew strong public backlash after the alleged assault went viral on social media.
The two officials are yet to release a statement, as of this writing.
