The mayor of the Municipality of Sogod, Province of Southern Leyte confirmed on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, an active case of Mpox in the town.
Sogod Mayor Sheffered Tan urged the public not to panic but to follow and cooperate with local healthcare workers, said a post of the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) in Southern Leyte.
A task force to manage and control the spread of the illness was created immediately, Tan has assured.
