A magnitude 5.4 earthquake has rocked Surigao del Sur around 4:36 p.m. on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).

PHIVOLCS said the epicenter was located 08.06°N, 126.75°E - 037 km N 86° E of Lingig town and had a depth of 29 kilometers.

The earthquake was tectonic in origin and aftershocks are expected.

Intensity IV was experienced in Bislig City, Hinatuan, and Lingig in Surigao del Sur.

Intensity II was felt in Mabini and Maco, Davao de Oro; San Francisco, Surigao del Norte; Barobo and City of Tandag, Surigao del Sur.

Instrumental intensities were recorded in the following areas:

Intensity IV - Nabunturan, Davao de Oro; Bislig City, Surigao del Sur

Intensity III - Kalilangan, Bukidnon

Intensity II - Tandag, Surigao del Sur

Intensity I - Cabadbaran City, Agusan del Norte; Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental; Malungon, Sarangani; Tupi, South Cotabato; San Francisco, Southern Leyte; Surigao City, Surigao del Norte
