A spring resort in El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental has been closed temporarily after it was flooded over the weekend.

Following a bout of urban flooding in parts of Barangay Poblacion, several homes in the area were inundated with floodwaters.

Floodwaters reportedly reached knee-deep in some parts of the barangay, including the Tuburan Spring Resort.

As a result, the spring has been closed to visitors to allow clearing and clean-up operations.

Authorities have assured the public that the spring will reopen once the surroundings have been fully cleaned and deemed safe for tourists.

According to the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO, the Spong creek reportedly overflowed due to heavy rains in the upland areas of the city.
