A 45-year-old habal-habal driver was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds in Barangay Labangal, General Santos City morning on Wednesday, June 18, 2025.

Police said the victim sustained gunshot wounds in the chest.

Based on investigation, a resident nearby reported hearing gunfire around 12:05 a.m. but ignored the noise.

The victim’s body was found several hours later.

Authorities have yet to determine the motive behind the killing. They ruled out robbery as possible motive, noting that the victim’s bag and cash were not taken away.

“Hindi naman ito lumalabas na robbery hold-up dahil nandoon naman yung kanyang bag, nandyan naman yung kanyang pera, naiwan sa kanya, na-recover sa kanya. Kumakalap pa tayo ng mas maraming information para malaman natin kung ano talaga ang motibo ng pagbaril,” Police Station 2 Commander, Major Miguel Angelo Quidilla, said.

Police are also coordinating with the victim’s family and friends to gather additional details that may help shed light on the crime.
