Authorities seized ecstasy tablets worth over P5 million hidden in a shipment from Paris, France, just a day after it arrived in the Philippines.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Bureau of Customs (BOC) conducted a K-9 sniff test on the suspicious cargo at the Port of Clark, Pampanga. The test yielded a positive result for illegal drugs.

Inside the package, agents found 3,004 ecstasy tablets, commonly known as party drugs, concealed in four transparent pouches mixed with dog food pellets.

The drugs have an estimated street value of P5.1 million.

The BOC has since issued a warrant of seizure and detention for the shipment as investigations continue.
