An 18-year-old biker who showed off on the road in Lapu-Lapu City appeared at the Office of Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Junard Chan to apologize for the risky stunt.

The biker said that he was coaxed by his companions to perform the stunt and admitted that doing the stunt was not the first time.

The incident was caught on video in Masiwa, Barangay Marigondon past 6 p.m. on Monday, June 16, 2025. He biked toward a wing van but steered clear the moment the van was near.

After the video went viral on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, Chan posted on his social media page about the incident.

Morning on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, the biker appeared at Chan's office along with members of his family.

According to his elder sibling, they too could not believe that their brother would do a highly dangerous stunt. Members of his family said that his brother and his father were not able to control themselves from hitting him because of anger and worry over the content of the video that circulated on social media.

His family decided to take the biker to the mayor's office to apologize. His family also requested to have the name of the biker withheld for security purposes.

According to the biker, he has been into biking for five years already and that he sought membership to a bike community in Cebu.

The biker further said that they started showing off stunts while on the road in February 2025.

In another video shared on Chan’s social media page, the biker without a skull guard was seen speeding toward a modern public utility jeepney (PUJ).

The biker said that it was only after the video went viral that he got worried, felt regret for what he did, and feared for the consequences.

The mayor pointed out that the biker is already of legal age and therefore already knows that his stunts compromise not just his safety but of other road users as well.

The biker admitted his wrongdoing and made a public apology.
