The Police Regional Office-Northern Mindanao (PRO-10) has ordered all police stations in the region, especially those in urban areas, to familiarize themselves thoroughly with their respective areas of responsibility (AOR) to achieve the three-to-five-minute response time directive from PNP chief, General Nicolas Torre III.
PRO-10 said all beat patrollers or those personnel assigned to the streets and first responders must have comprehensive knowledge of crime-prone areas.
“Supposedly nakahibalo dapat gyud sila sa ilang respective area sa pinakagamay ug pinakadako nga tindahan importante kana kayo. Sa katung mga landmarks kung asa kini dapit so importante na nga nakahibalo gyud sila,” PRO-10 Spokesperson, Major Joann Navarro, said.
Police are also conducting surprise simulation exercises to test the response time and situational awareness of personnel.
PRO-10 also ensured that all personnel are equipped and trained on how to use their issued firearms. All personnel undergo regular marksmanship training every quarter to ensure they are skilled and accurate in using their guns.
“Kining armas nga anaa sa usa ka tawo nga dili hanas sa paggamit ana walay capacity sa kung unsaon man galing paggamit, pagpabuto so dako kana nga risgo even sa iyang kaugalingon nga kinabuhi ug labaw na sa kinabuhi sa mga inosente nga tao nga dili intended unta nga mahimong target,” Navarro added.
Physical fitness and proper police posture are also being enforced strictly.
PRO-10 Director, Brigadier General Jaysen De Guzman, himself demonstrated correct posture as part of setting the standard for personnel, aligning with Torre’s directive for all police officers to be physically fit in order to carry out their duties.
“So this is once again a call to action sa mga myembro sa PNP dapat disiplinado kita sa atong kaugalingon nga panlawas,” Navarro said.
