The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Davao (PDEA-11) has destroyed illegal drugs and expired medicines worth around P27.6 million at a funeral home in Davao City.

These dangerous drugs were either surrendered or seized during operations.

Among those incinerated were 3,410 grams of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) worth P23.2 million; 26,828 grams of dried marijuana leaves worth around P3.2 million; 126 pieces of marijuana plants worth around P225,000; and expired medicines worth P1.2 million.

PDEA-11 said the activity aims to prevent public speculation about the possible recycling of seized illegal drugs, ensuring transparency and compliance with the regulations of the Dangerous Drugs Board.

“Ito magbi-base naman ang destruction doon sa desisyon ng korte. Kung may desisyon na ang kaso, doon na masabi ang instruction. So, pero sa atin ang ginagawa natin is every six months nagka-conduct kami ng destruction,” PDEA-11 Director, Edgar Jubay, said.

The anti-narcotics agency also clarified that there is no drug laboratory in Davao region, following the recent confiscation of millions worth of illegal drugs at a house in Cabantian, Davao City during an operation conducted by the National Bureau of Investigation-Davao (NBI-11) on June 8, 2025.

“Dumarami kasi in the sense na may pumapasok pero nahuhuli natin. Meron kasing mga strategy ang ating mga sindikato kung paano ilulusot yung mga illegal drugs kung may magbabantay sa isnag checkpoint hindi naman yan magdadaan. And definitely gumagamit kasi sila ng courier services,” Jubay said.

PDEA-11 said operations will continue to intercept the entry and distribution of illegal drugs in the region.
