Former Negros Oriental representative Arnolfo Teves, Jr. is experiencing pain that requires constant medical observation, his legal counsel said on Sunday, June 22, 2025, based on a report of GMA News Online.

“Just talked to Mr. Teves' doctors. He is still in pain due to post-operative complications, going up to 10/10 on the pain scale just this morning, necessitating the attention of a pain management doctor,” said lawyer Ferdinand Topacio to members of the media, according to the report.

Arnie Teves underwent an appendectomy at the Philippine General Hospital last week, the report said.

Topacio said his client is on “powerful painkillers” and is unable to eat or drink orally. The former lawmaker is being fed via intubation, the report added.

“He is currently on ATC (around the clock) observation by medical professionals to address current concerns and to prevent future ones,” the lawyer said.

Teves was brought to the hospital from Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City morning on June 17, 2025, due to severe stomach pains.
