To ensure student safety as classes resume, schools in Dagupan City have tightened their security protocols, including stricter gate rules and regulated visitor access.

The Schools Division Office of Dagupan has implemented enhanced security measures as classes opened on June 16. One key policy is to keep school gates closed once the bell rings.

“As soon as the bell rings, the doors are closed. The gates are closed. 'Yun na ang ating policy,” Dr. Rowena Banzon, Dagupan City Schools Division Superintendent, said.

At Dagupan City National High School, stricter regulations also apply, especially on vehicles entering school premises. The school now enforces a drop-and-go policy.

“They come in, they drop. Hindi na sila nag-iikot within the premises,” Dr. Willy Guieb, Principal IV of Dagupan City National High School, said.

Officials are also studying the use of metal detectors for all gate entries, along with issuing visitor’s passes to better monitor people entering the campus.

Visitors, including parents, will no longer be allowed to proceed directly to classrooms.

“All visitors, including parents, ay hindi puwedeng dumiretso sa teachers concerned,” Guieb added.

Instead, guests must report to the guidance office, which will then coordinate with the teacher they intend to meet, so they can ensure classes remain undisturbed.

Through these efforts, the city aims to create a more secure and focused learning environment for all.
