Authorities seized suspected shabu worth more than P13 million in a buy-bust operation in Marawi City on Sunday, June 22, 2025.

Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Regional Special Enforcement Team and other law enforcement units arrested the suspect identified as alias “Orak,” 21, resident of Barangay Cairatan, Molundo, Lanao del Sur.

Authorities considered the suspect a high value target in the illegal drug trade.

Seized from the suspect were packs of suspected shabu weighing around two kilos, drug paraphernalia, a mobile phone, and a motorcycle allegedly used in illegal drug business.

The suspect is now detained and will face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act (RA 9165).

“This successful operation exemplifies the strength of inter-agency collaboration and the unwavering commitment of PDEA to rid the Bangsamoro region of illegal drugs,” PDEA-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Director, Gil Cesario Castro, said.
