Authorities shut down an illegal liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) refilling plant in Angeles City and arrested two men, and seized unauthorized LPG products worth over P6.5 million.

The Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) carried the raid out after confirming that the facility was engaged in refilling and selling of LPG without permits.

According to investigators, the plant sold refilled LPG tanks at lower prices to attract buyers.

“Sa ikinasang buy-bust operation, it turns out na wala pong permit na narekober sa kanilang premises,” PCpl. Brendon Daryl Torralba, CIDG Regional Field Unit 3 investigator, said.

“Based po sa prior information, binebenta po siya, nagri-range po from P750 to P850 po ‘yung tangke na refilled na galing po sa nasabing refilling plant, compared po sa price na nagri-range po ng P900 to P1,000,” Torralba added.

Authorities also confiscated LPG tanks, refilling equipment, and other tools used in the operation. The two suspects, who remain unnamed, will face multiple charges related to illegal trade and safety violations.
