TRIGGER WARNING: MENTION OF ONLINE SEXUAL EXPLOITATION

A 32-year-old member of the LGBTQ+ community was arrested for obscene content on his social media account using photographs and videos of children in the nude.

The suspect was arrested afternoon on June 19, 2025, by personnel of the Women and Children Protection Center (WCPC) of Parian Police Station in Cebu City. 

He was accused of posting nude photos and videos of children on his social media account for his foreign customers.

A concerned netizen reported his lewd online activities to the police.

However, the suspect denied vehemently the accusation.

He said that a close friend, also a member of the LGBT community, used for nearly a month his social media account. He said he has no idea his account was used for obscene online content.

On June 21, 2025, the suspect went through inquest proceedings for violation of Republic Act 11930, or the Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children and Anti-Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials Act.
