Three miners, two of whom were brothers, died while another miner was injured after a landslide buried their makeshift tent in Itogon, Benguet.
The landslide happened in Barangay Virac, according to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Itogon.
Authorities said heavy rains might have softened the soil, causing it to collapse from a height of about 100 meters.
The victims were in a temporary shelter after working at a mine nearby when the landslide occurred.
Large rocks made the two-hour rescue operation difficult. The brothers were rushed to a hospital but were declared dead on arrival.
The surviving miner is now in stable condition.
Authorities reminded residents near mountain slopes to stay alert, especially during continuous rainfall.
