A magnitude 6.3 earthquake rocked Davao Oriental around 9:58 a.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS).
PHIVOLCS initially recorded the quake at magnitude 6.4 but later downgraded it to 6.3.
The quake was tectonic in origin and had a depth of 34 kilometers. Aftershocks are also expected.
Intensity III was experienced in Bislig City, Surigao del Sur and Tarragona and Boston in Davao Oriental.
Intensity II was felt in Lingig, Surigao del Sur; Baganga, San Isidro, Mati City, Manay, and Caraga in Davao Oriental; Glan, Sarangani; Tagum City, Davao del Norte; Davao City; Santa Cruz, Davao del Sur; and Tulunan, Cotabato.
Intensity I was recorded in Barobo and Tagbina, Surigao del Sur; Governor Generoso and Cateel, Davao Oriental; Digos City, Davao del Sur; and M’lang, Cotabato.
