Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Chief Minister Abdulraof Macacua has directed all ministers, deputy ministers, and heads of offices and agencies under the Bangsamoro government to tender courtesy resignation on or before June 30, 2025.

In a memorandum dated June 23, 2025, Macacua said the move stemmed from the serious complaints brought to his attention.

The call for courtesy resignation is also seen as a measure to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of public service delivery in the region.

“To ensure continuity of government services, all concerned shall continue to report for work and perform only their routinary functions not involving discretion until any action on the courtesy resignations are taken,” the memorandum said.

Officials who will fail or refuse to comply with the order on or before the deadline will be deemed resigned.
