A vehicle and a portion of a store, including some of the store’s merchandise, were razed by fire in Barangay Lilingayon, Valencia City, Bukidnon.
The fire broke out past 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2025.
Personnel of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and fire volunteers responded to the area immediately.
The store owner also sustained burns in the hand.
BFP said the cost of damage was estimated at more than P650,000.
After the incident, speculations came out that the fire may have been an act of arson, since the fire reportedly started at the front portion of the vehicle.
Authorities are verifying the allegation saying that there is a possibility that the fire started from the vehicle.
No one was reported hurt in the incident.
BFP reminded the public to remain cautious, noting that fires can still occur even during the rainy season.
