A policeman who responded to an armed-person alarm in Danao City was reported injured on Friday, June 27, 2025, while his companion from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) fired back and hit the suspect.
According to Police Lieutenant Colonel Henrix Bancoleta, chief of Danao City Police Station, in an exclusive interview with dySS Super Radyo GMA, said that past noontime on June 27, 2025, the policeman responded to a report of an armed person in P. del Pilar Street, Barangay Poblacion.
The suspect grabbed reportedly the firearm of a pawnshop security guard.
According to Bancoleta, a chase ensued where the authorities caught up with the suspect in the vicinity of a hardware store.
When the suspect was about to be arrested, he fired at the policeman.
The responding policeman and the suspect were rushed to the hospital.
