A habal-habal driver was arrested with suspected shabu worth more than P20 million in a sting operation in Barangay Zone IV, Zamboanga City on Sunday, June 29, 2025.
According to the Zamboanga City Police Office (ZCPO), the suspect was tagged as high value individual in the illegal drug trade.
Seized during the operation were three ziplock bags containing suspected shabu weighing around three kilos. The bags were wrapped in newspapers and concealed in a paper bag to allegedly evade detection.
The suspect is now detained and will face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act (RA 9165).
"The success of this high-impact anti-drug operation is a testament to the dedication, coordination, and unwavering commitment of our law enforcement units in protecting the people of Zamboanga City. The arrest of a high-value drug target and the confiscation of a significant amount of illegal drugs underscore our determination to dismantle drug networks that threaten the safety and future of our communities. Let this serve as a warning to those who choose to engage in the illegal drug trade — there is no safe haven for criminals in our city,” ZCPO Director, Col. Fidel Fortaleza Jr., said.
