Two Army reservists were killed in an ambush in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte.

The victim’s car was riddled with bullets during the attack on Sunday, June 29, 2025. The victims were found inside the vehicle lifeless with gunshot wounds.

The victims were identified as a 42-year-old resident of Barangay Malagapas, Cotabato City and a 43-year-old resident of Barangay Biniruan, Cotabato City. Both were Army reservists assigned to PC Hill in Cotabato City.

Based on initial investigation, the victims were traveling through the area when they were fired upon at close range by the assailants.

The hail of bullets caused the driver to lose control of the vehicle, which then veered off the road and crashed into a tree.

Authorities are still investigating the incident to identify the perpetrators and determine the motive.

“Sa ngayon, wala pa tayong malinaw na motibo. So, isa pa yun sa mga subject sa investigation natin,” Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO-BAR) Spokesperson, Lt. Col. Jopy Ventura, said.
