A photo showing “House and lot for sale” sign with contact details posted on the gate of the residence of former President Rodrigo Duterte in Davao City circulated on social media on Saturday, June 28, 2025.
However, the tarpaulin could no longer be seen the next day. Only two standees of Duterte remained outside the gate.
One of the homeowners in the subdivision said they had no idea who put up or took the sign down.
“Of course, we were saddened na nabasa namo ang tarpaulin na for sale kay being mga neighbors nga dugay na, syempre, sad mi kung ibaligya nila kay aside from na-President siya, mayor namo siya for the longest (time). He was the longest mayor in Davao City. Unya karon, mayor na pud siya kay nidaug naman pud siya. Naguol mi pero karong buntag, pagbangon nako, naa na pud naghatag sa ako og information nga gitanggal daw ang karatola nga for sale. So, at least, siguro, na-realize pud nila nga dili gyud siya dapat ibaligya because of the historical sa balay,” a homeowner said.
GMA Regional TV One Mindanao is reaching out to Duterte’s common-law wife, Honeylet Avanceña, and other members of the Duterte family for a statement, as of this writing.
Meanwhile, situation is back to normal outside the house of the former President. The tents used previously by content creators and volunteers stationed outside the house have been dismantled after the subdivision’s homeowners reportedly asked them to vacate the area.
It can be recalled that volunteers have been guarding the house of the former President since March 13, 2025 when the alleged report that police would serve a search warrant came out.
“Before pa, linaw man gyud ni amoang lugar. It’s just that nahitabo tong gikuha si PRRD, mao tong nangabot ang volunteers 24/7. Pero sa kadugay sa panahon, mura ba og nag-stay naman gud sila. So, di pud siguro maayo nga hugaw kaayo. Kami gani nga mga residente, very keen mi, dili mi basta-basta makatuyok diha kay respect namo kay PRRD ug sa Duterte family,” a homeowner said.
At present, security personnel from the barangay continue to monitor the area, from the entrance to the vicinity of the Duterte residence.
The subdivision remains open to visitors and tourists who want to see and take photos outside Duterte’s house. Visiting hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
In May, Vice President Sara Duterte said she had suggested to Avanceña that they open the house to the public so that people could gain insight into the former President’s life at home.
