Former Negros Oriental representative Arnolfo Teves, Jr. was taken back to Camp Bagong Diwa from the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) evening on July 1, 2025, his legal counsel said Wednesday, July 2, 2025.

Arnie Teves, who is facing multiple murder charges over the alleged killing of Negros Oriental governor Roel Degamo and others, was transferred to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Annex 2 at 8:30 p.m., according to a GMA News Online report.

“He is still experiencing stomach pains of moderate intensity,” Atty. Ferdinand Topacio, Teves’ legal counsel, said in a message to reporters.

“He will be requesting for a follow-up checkup from his PGH doctors to be held at Annex 2 one week from today,” he added.

Teves underwent appendectomy at the PGH on June 18, 2025.

The report said that BJMP confirmed on July 2, 2025 that Teves was discharged from PGH around 9 p.m., July 1, 2025, and has been returned to Metro Manila District Jail Annex 2, its detention facility in Taguig City.

Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla stressed previously that Teves will not be placed under hospital arrest nor given preferential treatment after his discharge from the hospital, the report further said.

Aside from charges over the Degamo case, Teves is also facing an illegal possession of firearms and explosives case before a Manila court.

He refused to enter a plea in both cases, leading two Manila courts to enter a not guilty plea for him.

Meanwhile, his arraignment over another murder case was rescheduled to July 14, 2025 due to his surgery.

The Anti-Terrorism Council has designated him and others as terrorists, citing several alleged killings and harassment in the Province of Negros Oriental.
