A 42-year-old farmer was injured seriously after he was hacked allegedly by his drinking companion in Barangay Quinlogan, Quezon, Palawan.

The incident happened around 7 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2025.

Authorities identified the victim as "Tom," while the suspect was known as "Litoy," 30.

Both are residents of the area.

In a report by Kenneth Calumris on Super Radyo Palawan, initial police investigation revealed that the group, composed of Tom, Litoy, a man named "Bebot," and another unidentified male, began drinking at the suspect’s father’s house at around 1 p.m.

According to three minors who witnessed the incident, Litoy suddenly became angry with Tom during the drinking session.

Despite attempts to calm him down, Litoy grabbed a bolo hidden behind a banana tree and struck Tom in the neck and both shoulders allegedly.

The suspect fled on a motorcycle and reportedly threw the bolo into a wooded area.

Responders from Quezon MDRRMO brought the victim to the Quezon Medicare Hospital. He was later referred to a hospital in Puerto Princesa City for further treatment.
