A 30-year-old man wanted for allegedly raping his three nieces and neighbor was arrested in Maragusan, Davao de Oro.

Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation-Davao (NBI-11) arrested the suspect by virtue of a warrant for rape and statutory rape.

The suspect was listed as among the most wanted persons in the region.

“Isa siya sa top 10 sa mga Most Wanted in Region 11. Yesterday, daghang pulis nangadto diri to verify if we really arrested him. It was confirmed. Sa area niya sa Maragusan, dili lang kaning victims iyang nahilabtan, naa pay lain ba. And he does that by using drugs,” NBI-SEMRO Head Agent, Vincent Essex Minguez, said.

It was in 2018 when the suspect allegedly raped one of his nieces who was 11-year-old at that time. He then allegedly abused the victim’s two younger sisters.

“Wala jud ko nag-expect kay nilakaw ko sa among (unclear) para ma-save nako ang akong pamilya. Pero ang mahitabo, sa akoang pagtalikod, akoang mga manghud napud diay. Abi nakog safe na akong pamilya pero dili diay. Grabe ka mangtas,” one of the victims, alias “Jane,” said.

The suspect allegedly threatened to kill the victim’s family members if they will report to authorities.

“Nganong nabuhat nimo ni sa amoa? Sakit kaayo,” alias Jane added.

The suspect reportedly owned up to the crime and admitted that he had used marijuana when he committed the crime.

“Dala lang siguro sa kabataan. Dili pud sa ingon nga planado, kanang mukalit ra og (sulod) sa akong huna-huna ba. Nagmahay kung nganong nabuhat nako to,” the suspect said.

The suspect has been committed to the court. His charges are non-bailable.
