Three people who allegedly killed a man who reportedly took their video were arrested in Malangas, Zamboanga Sibugay.

According to the Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office, the victim was playing online games on his phone at a coconut farm in Barangay Kigay on July 5, 2025 when the suspects passed by him.

Some witnesses said the victim allegedly recorded a video of the suspects, and one of the suspects allegedly pulled out a gun and shot the victim multiple times.

Authorities immediately launched a manhunt operation, which resulted in the arrest of the three suspects.

Two other suspects remain at large – a 44-year-old man and one unidentified other.

Police are eyeing land dispute and personal grudge as motives.

The suspects are now facing murder charges.

Authorities condemned the incident.

“We strongly condemn this senseless act of violence and extend our deepest condolences to the bereaved family. The Zamboanga Sibugay Police Provincial Office is fully committed to bringing all perpetrators to justice and ensuring peace and security in our province,” Provincial Police Director, Col. Barnard Danie Dasugo, said.

“In line with our three core pillars – swift and responsive police service, unity and morale within the ranks, and accountability through modernization – we are intensifying our operations to pursue the remaining suspects while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and integrity,” Dasugo added.
