Two people were stabbed dead in separate attacks in Malasiqui, Pangasinan allegedly carried out by close family members.

One victim was an 18-year-old man who was killed by his uncle, the other an elderly woman who was killed by her own son.

In Barangay Warey, 18-year-old Omar Jhon Bacon died after his uncle allegedly stabbed him in the chest during a heated argument.

His partner, 23-year-old Roderica Soriano, was heartbroken over his sudden death.

“Sobrang sakit ‘yung ginawa nila sa asawa ko, wala silang awa. Sobrang sakit sa akin kasi nakasanayan ko na siya laging kasama,” Soriano said.

According to the police, the victim and his mother were talking playfully about a missing amount of money when the suspect, who lived nearby, overheard them and confronted them.

“Sabi, ‘Ibigay mo na yung pera kasi pambibili mo lang ‘yan ng shabu.’ From there, sinuntok na ni suspek si biktima ngunit nakaiwas pero nadulas siya. Noong nadulas po ‘yung biktima, biglang bumunot ng panaksak, kitchen knife, si suspek. At noong patayo na si victim, doon na siya nasaksak sa dibdib,” PCpt. Jeremias Ramos Jr., Malasiqui Police Intel and Investigation Officer, said.

The suspect is now under police custody and faces a charge of homicide.

PARRICIDE

Meanwhile, in Barangay Alacan, an 80-year-old woman was also killed, this time by her own son.

The elderly victim, who was from Barangay Gomez originally, had been staying with her 39-year-old son for two weeks to accompany him.

Police said the suspect had been showing signs of mental illness.

“Few weeks ago, napapansin na po ‘yung suspek na nasisiraan na ng bait. Actually, mag-isa lang po niya sa bahay (suspek) pero sinasamahan na siya ng kanyang nanay,” Ramos said.

Moments before the incident, a sibling tried to visit them but was not allowed inside. When she returned with other relatives, the stabbing had already happened.

“Ang ginawa ng ate, bumalik siya sa Barangay Gomez para tawagin ang ibang kapatid. Pagbalik nila, doon na nangyari ang pananaksak. Pagkasaksak sa kaniyang nanay, tumakbo siya palabas,” Ramos said.

The suspect was found dead later about a kilometer away from the house, with a neck wound and the same knife used in the stabbing.
