A street food vendor was shot dead in Barangay Dologon, Maramag, Bukidnon.

The 42-year-old victim sustained a gunshot wound in the head and did not reach the hospital alive.

Police said the victim was doing his usual business when the gunman approached and shot him at close range.

“According sa investigator, ang suspect nakasuot ng white jacket and nagsibat siya through on foot lang,” Bukidnon Police Provincial Office Spokesperson, Major Jayvee Babaan, said.

Authorities said prior to the incident, the victim had been receiving death threats.

Investigators are looking into love triangle as possible motive following reports that the victim may have been involved in a complicated relationship.

“Base pud sa statement ng family nitong victim at saka asawa at anak niya mas (malapit) sa love triangle,” Babaan added.

Police are gathering pieces of evidence, including footages from CCTV cameras in the area.

A person of interest has already been identified and is being pursued, as of this writing.

Authorities urged anyone with information to come forward and cooperate with the police.
