In addition, not less than 10 cases were recorded in Barangay Zone 3, Talisay City, Negros Occidental.

The anti-proliferation program of the city has recommended regular sanitation, and immediate medical consultation at the onset of symptoms.

“Hini-health educate namin ang family na may suspect na hand, foot and mouth disease. Ina-advice [advise] namin na mag-disinfect,” said Mary Joy Alintana, a barangay health worker.

Daisy Baybayon, mother of a student infected by HFMD, said she has practiced stringent health measures after her 14-year-old child suffered from the disease.

“Mga two weeks na. Tapos palaging nagpapantal-pantal. Noong huli, naging makati na. Tapos masakit na makati,” Baybayon said.
