An overseas Filipino worker (OFW) who arrived at the Iloilo International Airport in Cabatuan town, Province of Iloilo was arrested for estafa.
The 42-year-old OFW arrived in Iloilo from Singapore.
The OFW is a resident of Dumalag town, Province of Capiz.
The OFW was stopped by personnel of the Bureau of Immigration based on an alarm for estafa. When verified, it was confirmed that the warrant of arrest against the suspect is active. Immediately, a booking at the Cabatuan Municipal Police Station was processed before she was turned over to the custody of a court in Mambusao, Capiz that issued the warrant.
According to the OFW to airport police, she does not know of any case filed against her.
Further, it was learned that the OFW posted bail immediately.
The airport police refused to divulge details on the complainant and the specific counts of the estafa case.
“Since 2015 nagpa-Singapore sya. Umuwi lang siya (July 11, 2025) considering na ang ama niya critical daw ang sitwasyon. So not knowing na meron siyang kaso,” said Lieutenant Frank Eduard Tamon, station duty officer at the Iloilo Airport Police Station.
