More than 100 police officers have been deployed across key areas in General Santos City to maintain peace and order.

The deployment is part of their training to enhance readiness and quick response in times of criminal incidents.

The 106 police officers came from various parts of SOCCSKSARGEN.

During their deployment, they will not be carrying firearms and will, instead, focus on increased police visibility in public spaces.

They will be stationed in areas where people usually converge like malls, public markets, plazas, and other public areas.

They will also help monitor events and other activities in the city over the next few months.

“Unarmed na sila, tabang na sila sa visibility sa enforcement of law diri asa atua,” General Santos City Police Office Director, Col. Nicomedes Olaivar Jr., said.
